DaVinci String Quartet - commentary

This is a DaVinci Quartet fall.

I first met the quartet
through an invitation
from Joanne Johnson in 2001.

We hosted one of their concerts
in our carriage house in September.

This morning they performed
in our service at church.

We went back
to a concert at 7:00.

In two weeks we will go
to see them
at another historic building.

Each time I see them perform
I improve my ability to recognize
their perfection
and commitment.

I am learning to appreciate
the intricate joining
of their movements and sounds.

They are a perfected example
of precise timing
and emotional sounds.

They possess extraordinary precision and are so completely intent on perfection.

It is easy to single out
the individual contributions.

The quartet creates an attentive respectful audience.
The audience intently listens
to the sound variations.

I hear powerful
yet perfectly coordinated sounds.

The performers are
using their auditory memories
and visual signals (notes)
to make sure each
combination of sounds
comes out perfectly.

My life goes in cycles.

I guess this is a quartet cycle.

Very different than the football games I watch
on Sunday afternoons.
