MOTIVATING KIDS

TAKES SOME R&R

Most parents cheer for their kids

at soccer and baseball games.

How many parents cheer them on

at homework time?

Motivating kids to enjoy learning takes some R&R.

Rest and relaxation?  No.

Role-modeling and rewards!

Students need to see

what success looks like.

They need to be rewarded

for learning and

for establishing

good learning habits.

Parents and teachers

are the primary role models

for young children.

By becoming learners themselves,

parents can give their kids

an example to follow.

Rewards can be given

in the classroom and at home.

Offer rewards IMMEDIATELY

after the completion of:

an assignment

a book, or a chapter

a study session

Money usually works the best,

as long as it is their only source

of income.

Once the social rewards

of learning are realized,

monetary rewards will

no longer be necessary.
