International
Étudiants ESL

Étudiants internationaux
sont chaleureusement

accueillis

dans la communauté des écoles

accélérée et sont

encouragés à s'enscrire.
----------------------

Voyages éducatifs qui aident à
apprendre l’anglais deuxième langue.

Nos excursions et voyages
éducatifs explorent des centaines de sites historiques et emplacements géologiques.

La participation en voyages
de champ s'ajoute à
une occasion pratique
pour apprendre la langue et culture américaines.

Plusieurs voyages de champ
sont planifiés chaque semaine.

L’anglais est la seule langue commune utilisée.

Les étudiants préparent
des notes avant le voyage
et prennent notes
pendant le voyage.

Les étudiants et les professeurs
discutent les aspects d'excursion
dans les bus, et, le jour suivant, les étudiants font ses devoirs en anglais  sur leurs expériences de voyage.
---------------------

LES ÉTUDIANTS INTERNATIONAUX
FONT GAINS PRINCIPAUX

Étudiants d'anglais deuxième langue aux
écoles accélérées
font le progrès
scolaire signifiant
selon les résultats des tests
standards nationalement reconnus
dans la lecture,
la langue et les maths.

Depuis 1991,
étudiants commençant au-dessus du niveau du deuxième semestre du cours moyen 1,
a fait une moyenne de 32 heures pour accomplir un gain d'un an
dans les trois matières.

Étudiants commençant au-dessous du niveau sus-mentionné,
a fait une moyenne de 54 heures pour accomplir un gain d'un an.

Ces avancements dramatiques
ont été accomplis avec
les programmes accélérés d’apprentissage de langue
essayés aux écoles accélérées.

Dispositifs de langue accélérés
expositions multiples
aux matériaux de programme d'études,
appui intensif de professeur

et de pair,
plus un programme de motivation fort.

Les étudiants d'ESL font
la moyenne de plus que
3000 pages d'écriture
en anglais par an.

Maîtrise de l'anglais parlé
il est difficile de mesurer,
mais observateurs et étudiants
ont été heureusement étonnés
au niveau élevé
de la maîtrise anglaise
nos étudiants d'ESL peuvent démontrer
après quelques mois.

ÉQUIPEMENTS EMBARQUANTS
AVEC DES FAMILLES DE CENTRE SERVEUR

Nous aidons à nous charger
de la pièce et du conseil
pour le notre hors
des étudiants de ville.

Nous préférons le placement
avec une
“famille de centre serveur"
qui peut fournir
une attention valable
et quelques activités sociales
pour l'étudiant.

L'environnement
de support de famille
fourni par nos parents de remplacement
a prouvé plus efficace
pour nos étudiants.

Les familles que nous recommandons
ont été examinés et formés
pour soutenir notre positif
programme de renfort.

Certains substituent des familles
ayez d'autres enfants
dans leurs maisons ou ayez déjà
a élevé leurs enfants.

Ceci leur donne un objet de

valeur
perspective de s'occuper
avec nos étudiants.

Des étudiants sont
traités comme membres
de la famille de remplacement
et soyez responsable du soin
de leur propre pièce privée.

On s'attend à ce qu'ils

conservent
heures raisonnables
pour leur catégorie d'âge et suivez
règles travaillées pour

chaque situation.

La famille de centre
serveur géographique
endroit dans le secteur de metro
n'est pas important comme professeurs
reprenez et laissez
tomber outre des étudiants.

Educational trips
that teach ESL.

Our educational tours

and field trips explore

hundreds of historical and geological sites.

Field trip participation adds
a “hands-on”
opportunity
to learn American language
and culture.

Several field trips
are scheduled each week.

The only common language

used is English.

Students prepare notes
prior
to the trip and take notes
during the trip.

Students and teachers discuss
the tour features in the vans,
and students write papers
the next day in English based
on their trip experience.

INTERNATIONAL
STUDENTS MAKE
MAJOR GAINS

ESL students at

Accelerated Schools
make notable academic

progress as measured

by nationally recognized
standardized tests in reading,
language and math.

Since 1991,
students starting above the 3.5
grade level averaged 32 hours
to accomplish a one year gain
in the three subject areas.

Students starting below
the 3.5 grade

level averaged
54 hours per grade gain.

These dramatic advances
were accomplished
with the Accelerated Language Programs
pioneered at Accelerated Schools.

Accelerated Language

features
multiple exposures
to curriculum materials,
intensive teacher

and peer support,
plus a strong

motivational program.

ESL students average more than
3000 pages of writing
in English per year.

Fluency in spoken English
is hard
to measure,
but observers and students
have been happily surprised
at the high level of English fluency
our ESL students

can demonstrate
after a few months.

BOARDING FACILITIES
WITH HOST FAMILIES

We help arrange room

and board
for our

out of town students.

We prefer placement
with a
“host family”
who can provide
valuable attention
and some social activities
for the student.

The supportive family

environment
provided by our substitute

parents
has proven most effective
for our students.

The families we recommend
have been screened

and trained
to support our positive
reinforcement program.

Some substitute families
have other children
in their homes or have already
reared their children.

This gives them a valuable
perspective
for dealing
with our students.

Students are treated as members
of the substitute family
and are responsible
for the care
of their own private room.

They are expected
to keep
reasonable hours
for their age group

and follow
tailored rules
for each situation.

The host family's geographical
location within

the metro area
isn't important

as teachers
pick up

and drop off students.
