Improve good test scores
2 or 3 years in one year.

How long does it take?

250 days of 2 hours per day
or full time for 9 months.

GUARANTEED RESULTS

If you test OVER 3.5 grade level
in reading-
expect an average of 3 years gain
in the three major areas
Reading, Math and Language Arts.

If you test UNDER 3.5 grade level
in reading-
expect an average of 2 years gain
in the three major areas
Reading, Math and Language Arts.

Once the "Elementary" test score
is above 3.6 you can expect
an average increase of 3.0 years
for each additional nine months.

Example:

Average scores increase
from 4.0 to 7.0,
5.0 to 8.0 etc.

Q.
HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?

A.
An individualized combination
of Accelerated Thinking 555
and Peterson Reading.

PETERSON READING

Rapid exposure
to a wide range of vocabularies.

Thousands of new words
and meanings per week.

Over 50,000 responses per week.

Intensive time on task
for long periods.

Sustained practices.

Reassuring accuracy.

High percentage of correct responses.

Easy transfer of sound
to printed word.

Limited opportunity for criticism,
correction and embarrassment.

Maximum opportunity
for successes.

The end result
is higher self-esteem
and optimism for new challenges.
----------------------

PETERSON READING

Simplifying the process
of learning to read.

An auditory reading system that:

-Changes the balance
of success and failure.

-Lets the child have
a good self-image.

-Lets the child "read"
without silent reading confusions.

-Gives the child essential
decision-making
and survival information.

-Lets the child grow up
without so much disapproval.

-Lets the child be a successful member
of a chorusing group.

Peterson Reading is successful
because we:

Eliminate classroom procedures
that protract the learning.

Eliminate anything
that delays success in Reading.

Replace all possible
non-winning assignments.
----------------------

ACCELERATED THINKING 555

A superior way
to increase comprehension and memory.

Helps students limit
regressions and overwriting.

Quickly builds a broad base
for understanding and memories.
-----------------------

STUDENTS WRITE MORE

Typical student accomplishments:

60 to 100 pages of writing
per week including notes,
rough drafts and finished papers.

1960 to 3600 pages
in 36 weeks includes:

One 2 page research paper
per week for 36 weeks.

One documentary
or book report each week.

One practice mastery test
each week.

One practice ACT/SAT test
each week.

One AP essay per week,
copied or original.

An average more than 2000 pages
each nine months.

Changes the daily and weekly
balances of success and failure.
-----------------------

TO STUDENTS:

This school may be
the most important experience
of your life.

You can make big changes
in your life-long style
and acceptance.

Higher scores allow you to compete
with the better students
and raise your sights
for a better life.

Are you above or below the average
for your grade?

Being way above average
can earn many awards
and scholarships.

Being above average is easy.

Being average is "C" grades
and difficult.

Being below average is hard
if not impossible.

Accelerated can quickly change
your relative class standing.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Q.
If it is this easy
to make gains,
why hasn't it happened before?

It has.

70 percent of the students
who enroll at Accelerated Schools
can test above grade level
when they start.

85 percent of the students
top the standardized tests
for their grade level
within their first year
of attendance.

Many of our entering Junior
and Senior high students
have already topped
all the standardized tests
at 12.5.

Performance above the 12.5 level
is measured by:

Writing skills test improvement.

Mastery test improvement.

SAT scores improvement.

College level,
Advanced Placement test
improvement.
----------------------

CATCH UP IN ONE YEAR!

If you are only two or three
years below grade level.

What does this mean?

We compare the average
of Standardized beginning
and post-test scores
in three areas,
Reading,
Math and Language Arts.

Examples:

One year test gains depend
on the beginning reading score.

9 Months' Gain
1.5 to 3.5 2 years
2.0 to 4.0 "
2.5 to 4.5 "
4.0 to 7.0 3 years
6.0 to 9.0 "
8.0 to 11.0 "
9.5 to 12.0 2.5 years
10.0 to 12.5 2.5 years,
topped the tests available.

Eighteen months' gains
1.5 to 6.5 5 years
3.5 to 8.5 5 years
4.0 to 10.0 6 years
6.0 to 12.0 "
7.0 to 12.5 5.5 years
8.0 to 12.5 4.5 years
11.0 to 12.5 1.5 years

27 months' gains
1.5 to 9.5 8.0 years
3.0 to 11.0 8.0 years
3.7 to 12.5 8.7 years,
topped the tests available.
4.0 to 12.5 8.5 years,
topped the tests available.

36 months' gain
All students should top
the standardized tests available.

COMMENTARY ABOUT SCORES

Scoring at "Grade level"
is roughly equivalent
to "C" grades at the start
of any school year.

Example:

7.0 is roughly a "C"
at the start of 7th grade.

7.0 is roughly equivalent
to "D" grade at the end
of the 7th grade.

The student needs to score 8.0
average to earn a "C"
at the end of the year.

We have learned these parameters
by keeping extensive records
and measuring our success
with thousands of students since 1964.

Our methods are likely to work
for your child.

We want you to know
that we think your child
can make these standardized
test gains.
-----------------------

GUARANTEED DETAILS

We can't promise how many gains
your child will make.

We can promise how much
it will cost to make the gains.

All students will achieve desired
and paid gains or can continue
in the part-time school
without charge until the gains
can be accomplished.

If at any time Accelerated
determines that it cannot achieve
all the specified gains
it may at its option
decide to make a pro-rata refund
for all gains not accomplished.

We will refund any overpayment.

The most important variable
is you,
the parent.

If you follow Winning Systems
to the letter,
they will work.

If you don't,
we may not achieve the goals,
and we may have to transfer
your child to the afternoon
part-time school.

In the most extreme of cases,
we may have to stop instruction
and make a pro-rata refund
of your tuition.

We will do more than our best
to make your child successful.
