The School is informal and nonstressful. It is a warm and friendly yet studious environment. Students quickly adapt to the high-level challenges being presented.

The student is picked up at the door of his or her residence and brought to school by 9:30 a.m. From 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. the student is under the supervision of one teacher for academics. This teacher does not teach all subjects, but rather is responsible for the student's schedule, behavior, and progress.

The student has a supervised lunch break from 11 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. The balance of school time is spent working as directed on a teacher-monitored contract that results in a report card at the end of each day. The student may bring lunch or purchase lunch from a catering truck that comes to the School.

At 1:30 p.m., afternoon activities begin. Regularly scheduled activities may include fieldtrips, computer lab, science lab, art, study hall, and library. Special activities such as swimming, jogging, and bowling may be scheduled by the staff. The school day ends at 3:30 p.m.

Weekend Life

Day students spend weekends with their families, and boarding students with their host families. Many of the host families organize activities and trips.
